Month of Thanksgiving

Things I am grateful for

Day 1: As unoriginal as it is, I am thankful for Judd.  He has always worked extremely hard and has always been extremely dedicated to bettering himself and our family.  Since we have been married, with the exception of the year after he graduated, he has always been in school.  That has to be exhausting with the hours spent either "book" studying or at work studying making sure he passes each rotation.  Along with school he has always had a church calling that requires some time and right now is no different.  At times I complain about how I don't get to see him on Sundays after church but he NEVER complains.  I feel a little bad for not being more encouraging about it.  He is always my number one supporter and no matter if I am a foul mood or acting like a two year old, he is there trying to make me feel better.  He will even drive far to get me my "soul food" Quiznos if he thinks it will make me feel better.  Sure do love that guy.

Day 2: My boys.  Some moments my level of gratitude my vary.  At night when they are sleeping, my gratitude and love for them is huge...this morning when Ethan woke up at six and when the fighting starts over every.little.toy I want to pull my hair out and ship them off to China where my parents live.  Brenton, though sassy and mouthy at time (the fantastic fours...or perhaps the "f" stands for something else) was born a sweetheart.  Even though he and Ethan bicker, he is very sweet with him and is concerned when Ethan may be sick or crying.  Last week while Brenton was at school Ethan kept asking where Brenton was and spent the morning missing him.  When I picked Brenton up and opened the car door Ethan screamed , "Brenton!"  I told Brenton how much Ethan had missed him and Brenton was sweet enough to hug Ethan in his car seat.  Ethan is my spit fire, full of life, adorable little monster.  I love him but man oh man I am expecting to develop a gray hair from him any day.  He knows EXACTLY what to do to push my buttons.  He is into EVERYTHING and breaks EVERYTHING.  Today it was the Dish Network cable box.  Cute right?  Just when I feel my head about to explode he smiles and gives me a hug.  He not only smiles with his huge, toothy grin but also with his eyes.  He truly loves everyone and everyone instantly loves him.  Can't imagine my life without either of these two.

Boys

Here are some cute pictures of the boys. Ethan the last day or so has decided that solid food-rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and apricots aren't so bad. I'm glad he likes them. He seems to be to actually be "full" for once instead of hungry every two hours. It has been great weather outside and he loves every minute. Still isn't a huge fan of the stroller but we are working on that!

Ever since Brenton was a baby, he has LOVED being outside. When he was little we would walk, and walk, and walk, and walk and he would never get tired of it. When he was 8-9 months old, Judd and I set out for a walk and 9 miles later we came back home. Brenton was in heaven the whole time! When we lived in Utah, our apartment got so hot in the summer and Brenton would always want to be outside. My solution was to put up a make shift gate in front of our door and leave the door open so he could see out and our apt would stay cool. Every night this week he has requested a walk. Glad he is still loves to be outside. I think the only thing he might love more is the movie Tangled. We watch it every day!

While we were in Utah he developed a pretty severe ear infection (mastoiditis) and we thought we had gotten rid of it but two nights ago he woke up with a fever and threw up...just once. Yesterday he woke up and felt warm but was acting fine. We went to the park, he took a nap, we went for a walk, and ate dinner at the lake. While at the lake he laid down on the grass and requested to go home. That's when I knew he must not feel well. He was still warm and was just laying with his hands on his head. Brenton hates doctors and hates to take medicine so he made it pretty difficult for Judd to look in his ears. Sure enough the one that had been infected in Utah was red. Not wanting to wait till morning I took him in and sure enough...Double Ear infection. I felt horrible for not realizing it, the ER Physician made me feel even more horrible. I kind of wish that when he was sick that he would actually act sick instead of me having to guess what may or may not feel well (he won't ever tell you what hurts). Ethan on the other hand freaks out if he has the sniffles. Luckily he is feel much better tonight!

Funny quotes of the week..

"Mom, I want fat milk, I really want some fat milk."--This is a milk Judd makes. It consists of one part CREAM, two parts 2% milk, and a ton of Hershey Syrp. Gross if you ask me. Today at Walmart, I purchased cream and while putting it on the register, Brenton kept telling the cashier that it was for Daddy's fat milk. She just looked at him and I just laughed inside.

"I see Mommy's bum."--I had gone for a run and when I got home went upstairs to change. Brenton tottled upstairs and I had my back to him. He must have seen me and started singing, "I see mommy's bum." Last time I change in front of him! Silly boy.
